Local envinronment challenges

The LOCAL ENVIRONMENT CHALLENGES activity is part of the Comenius project ’ A PATH TO SUSTAINABILITY’ in which Andrei Mureşanu High School, Brasov is involved.
The activity developed during March and April 2011 and consisted of choosing a water stream in the school area, taking water samples, performing chemical-physical analyses and identifying possible pollution agents as well as designing an informing and raising awareness campaign regarding water.
The chosen water stream was the Graft Brook which springs in the ‘Pietrele lui Solomon’ area, crosses part of the city through ‘După ziduri’ area to flow into the Ghimbăşel, a  tributary stream of the Olt.
28 high school students from grade IX-F were involved in the activity.
The water samples were collected by Ţigăroi Claudiu, Paşca Antonio and Bordean Andra and all the students participated in the water analysis activity.
Weather was nice during the activity of collecting samples and the students were glad to take part in the activity.
