Theme of the project : Protection of the environment


Aim of the project
This multidisciplinary and cross-curricular project entitled ’A Path to Sustainability’, has appeared from the definite intention to change the attitude towards the environment of each partner’s pupils and school community.
Wisdom is built gradually through experience. Thus, by means of this project we want to educate/to make the school community aware of a practical attitude that could make a difference for our planet, stimulating the development of the initiative, opening our minds towards change, preparing all those involved to reflect  and become environmentally aware. Our means? Environmental education!

Partners:

    Objectives and strategies of the project:
      • To increase the concern for the protection of the environment and ecological balance;
      • To raise the students’ awareness about the need to use alternative sources of energy;
      • To promote the active intervention of the pupils in the conservation of biodiversity;
      • To develop an active civic attitude for the protection of the environment;
      • To develop the ability of the pupils to take initiative in protecting the environment;
      • To raise common European awareness on environmental issues;
      • To make students and teachers aware of the importance of studying foreign languages and new information technologies in achieving communication;
      • To motivate teachers to introduce the project activities ( activities related to the environment) in current teaching activities and the curricula if possible;
      • To ensure cooperation between schools and local authorities;

    Length of the project: 2 years (Sept. 2010- Jun.2012)

    Programme (sequent)/ Expected results:

    1 NOVEMBER 2010 –Logo - choosing project logo
    2 FEBRUARY 2011 –Recycling station –Creation of an animated recycling stations (recycle and decorate a structure)  
    3 JUNE  2011 – First Festival – pupils from the different countries involved in the project present artistic creations on the theme of the environment   –creation of the Festival Film
    4 DECEMBER 2011- Calendar – production of an illustrated calendar promoting responsible environmental attitudes and behaviour          
    5. APRIL 2012  Town of the Future – each country makes a model of a  town from 2060-with renewable energy sources
    6. APRIL 2012 T-shirts/slogan - Each country chooses slogans and drawings illustrate the T-shirts with the logo of the project
    7. JUNE 2012 -Second Festival – pupils from the different countries involved in the project present artistic creations on the theme of environment  - creation of the Festival Film 
    8. 2010-2012 - Blog– each country creates and keeps a blog.
