„Made for Europe” - Competition

On 14th March 2012 we participated in the county stage of the Made for Europe competition, a contest for final products of the projects financed through community programs and developed in schools.
            We entered the competition with the following product: “A path to sustainability” project blog. The product was presented by a team of students- Stoian Stefania Elena, Dumea Bianca Ioana- guided by teacher Codruta Ciupala. We earned the second place and we also participated in the national stage, in Bucharest, 19th April 2012.

For both stages of the competition we arranged a special stand with the blog illustrated on the laptop and with advertisements presenting and promoting our project as well as some other products of the project.

CREATION OF FUTURE TOWN- 2060

‘Creation of future town-2060’activity ( with renewable sources of energy), part of the Comenius project, was developed in our school between February 2nd and March 16th . The coordinating teachers explained the content, requirements and conditions of the activity then, the 63 pupils interested in the activity divided into groups and started designing models.
     The pupils of classes V B, VI B and XII N became enthusiastically and completely involved in  solving the task.
     The product of the activity, the 15 models,  were displayed in the Multimedia Lab of ‘Andrei Muresanu’ High School, Brasov and the jury consisting of teachers and pupils decided upon the best works.

The elaboration of the illustrated calendar

            The elaboration of the illustrated calendar is an activity in  which all the partners in the Comenius project equally participated. Thus, in October 2011, during the Brasov reunion, the partners decided the months each country should send 3 relevant pictures for, as the cover belonged to Romania. The same team was responsible for assembling the pictures and elaborating the calendar.
            The pupils of X-F showed their interest in getting involved in this activity. Mrs. Mihai Iudit explained the requirements and conditions to be observed, then the 20 pupils formed 5 groups and started working on the calendar.
           The products of the activity of the 5 groups were viewed by the entire class. Then  a jury formed of 3 pupils from XI-R decided upon the best calendar.
The chosen calendar was printed and sold.

Exchanging recycled Christmas cards

In December 2012, part of the Comenius project ‘A PATH TO SUSTAINABILITY’, the activity named ’ Exchanging recycled Christmas cards’ was performed.
The activity developed from 1st to 16th of December. During the first stage the needed materials were collected, then on 16th December the workshop was organized. Pupils from several classes of primary school, I B, III B, IV B, were involved in the activity.
The final products, the cards, were exhibited in the project window, and four of the most representative for the proposed theme were sent to the project partners.
The pupils involved in the activity had the pleasure of working in teams and achieving, from recycling materials, attractive products, appreciated by their schoolmates who viewed the exhibition.

Biodiversity - Presentations in each school to work on migrating birds sent by each partner school

In November our school was held in an activity called
 Biodiversity - Presentations in each school to work on migrating birds sent by each partner school
Description of Work:
Schools participating in the project took place at the beginning of the project activity of identifying, photographing and then studying migratory birds in the space around the school. These materials, embodied in Power Point presentations were then collected and presented to students in November 2011. In this activity students attended classes VI to XN and other students and members of the project. They had the opportunity to comment, approve or disapprove of their foreign colleagues' activities, completing a questionnaire of impact.
Conclusions:
All students involved have realized that between the environments of our partners is a great connection at Bird, all these spaces hub via migratory birds. They realized that we are all involved in protecting these wonderful creatures and that without our common effort, that their expedition itinerary fragile will break.

Presentation of the first year project results and planning of the second year (power-point, meetings) in front of parents, students, teachers, associated partners

On  2nd November 2011, the activity ‘Presentation of the first year project results and planning of the second year  (power-point, meetings) in front of parents, students, teachers, associated partners’  was organized at Andrei Muresanu High School, Brasov.
Team members: teacher in charge, Radu Daniela, Headmaster Cioc Niculae, Deputy Headmaster Ercus Dorina,  Chemistry teacher Donici George, made a power-point presentation of the activities developed and the products resulted during the first year of the Comenius project “A PATH TO SUSTAINABILITY”
The results of the project team (teachers and students) as well as the Calendar of the second year of the project were disseminated to 76 parents, 33 teachers and 51 students present at the activity. The impact was positive and the activity appreciated.

The Journal of the project reunion organized by Andrei Mureșanu High School, Brașov, 17th -20th October 2011

Saturday – 15th October 2011 – the Cyprus guests arrived.
Sunday – 16th October 2011 – the other groups arrived, the children were taken by the families of  Brasov children.
Monday – 17th October 2011
9.30 – The official reception of the attending groups ;
- the partners were greeted with bread and salt at the entrance of the festive hall, as a sign of appreciation
10.00 – The official opening of the reunion; the Headmaster of Andrei Mureșanu, Mr. Niculae Cioc and the host project coordinator, Mrs. Magda Koncz spoke, welcoming the guests
- the participants in the reunion were introduced
- media representatives were present.
After the coffee break the guests were guided by the school pupils around the school.  They visited  school labs, the school canteen, teachers’ room and classrooms.
13.00 – the participants had lunch together in the school canteen;
14.00 – the participants embarked on a city tour on the bus offered by the County Council. The itinerary was: Andrei Mureșanu High School,  City Council Square, Sica Alexandrescu Theatre, The City Hall,  De Mijloc Str., St. Bartholomew Church, Lungă Str., Belvedere, Union Square, Andrei Mureșanu High School. The city tour ended around 4 o’clock in the afternoon.






Tuesday– 18th October 2011
We went together with the guest group, teachers and students on a study trip, which included the following objectives: observation of anthropic lakes of Dumbrăvița, halting place for the migratory birds from other countries on their way to Africa.
Bran Castle and Râșnov Fortress were also visited. During the visit the group had a snack and in Moeciu at Vraja Muntelui Guest House we had lunch which consisted mainly of traditional Romanian food.



Wednesday– 19th October 2011
9.00 – the guest teachers involved in the project and some of the teachers from Brasov attended a reunion , in the festive hall of the school, to decide upon the design of the T-shirts, on the calendar and the preparation of the Portuguese festival.
The pupils took part in a workshop, in the informatics lab, where a Power Point presentations competition was organized on the theme of environmental protection and fighting against pollution  ( land, rivers, seas and oceans, air, radioactive, noise pollution and deforestation). Solutions to reduce pollution were presented, the pupils of Hoeggen skole, Trondheim, Norway, presented the bird migration map, completed with details related to the studied birds.
13.00 – The official closing festivity organized in the Festive Hall included an artistic show offered by the high school pupils. On this occasion were also awarded the attendance certificates.
The day ended with a festive dinner at Casa Românească.



Thursday – 20th  October 2011
9.00 – The teams from Portugal, Norway and Romania, accompanied by teachers  Donici George, Spiridon Nicolae and Koncz Magdalena visited the Renewable Energy Laboratories and the Chemistry Laboratories of the ”Product Design and Environment Faculty”, of Transilvania University Brașov.
On the way back to Andrei Mureșanu High School we visited the defence towers and walls of the old city, situated next to  Tiberiu Brădișteanu Alley, at the basis of Tâmpa Mountain.
